Eliza is a staff attorney at the Los Angeles Innocence Project. Eliza’s work includes addressing all aspects of wrongful convictions, with a specific focus on litigation and appeals.
Eliza graduated magna cum laude from Loyola Law School, where she received the William T. Aggeler Award, was elected Order of the Coif, and served as an editor on the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. Prior to joining LAIP, she was a staff attorney at the Loyola Project for the Innocent. She previously clerked for the Honorable André Birotte Jr. of the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Milan Smith Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She was also a litigator at a national law firm. Eliza is a graduate of UC Davis and speaks Spanish.
